What you’ll do:

  • Weekly sends infection control report to infection control nurse and supervising RN's.
  • Monthly sends an accurate medication count report to supervising RN's within the first 5 business days of the month.
  • Completes assigned in-services and submits to appropriate places by due date for all FT and PRN Staff.
  • Prepares for CMA Class as scheduled staff.
  • Provides an updated nursing summary/report of medication changes to supervising RN's and on call LPN.
  • Ensures that all residents complete lab work as ordered by provider and request to obtain copy of lab results for residents medical chart.
  • Completes progress notes for appointments and medication changes.
  • Provides care to a resident that is safe, proactive, resident focused and, consistent with their Treatment Plan.
  • Trains residents in needed in skill areas based upon objectives identified in their treatment plan.
  • Trains the resident in Activities of Daily Living (ADL) skills, such as hygiene, cleaning, and laundry.
  • Document significant changes in resident behavior, mood, or affect observed and share those observations with all the staff.
  • Maintains a current driver’s license and transports residents to day programs and scheduled activities on time and safely.
  • Properly administers medications and documents administrations.
  • Monitors resident's medication compliance and progress notes any noncompliance.
  • Participates in shift report by contributing to written shift report and when possible is present at verbal shift report when arriving and leaving each day on duty.
  • Prepares written communications that are clear concise, and grammatically correct.
  • Ensures all clients shave an adequate stock of medication at all times.
  • Ensures that current physician’s orders are maintained for all clients’ current medication.
  • Completes a weekly assessment & monthly progress note including but not limited to - recent medication changes, PRN medication usage, management of medical conditions, appointments attended, medication compliance, and any other pertinent nursing information.
  • Ensures an accurate MAR are prepared monthly and maintained throughout the month.
  • Oversee the work of the CMAs and monitors documentation of the administration of medications, vitals, counting of controlled substance and any other relevant compliance with nursing issues.
  • Provides education to staff and clients on any nursing issue that arises.
  • Properly disposes of discontinued medications.
  • Completes all nursing documentation (including but not limited to: admission summary, nursing assessment, discharge summary, dietary summary, etc.) as dictated by Alternative Services policy.
  • Ensures all clients have routine physicals, vision, dental, podiatry, psychiatric, or any other appointments scheduled as needed.

Demonstrate regular and predictable attendance; arrive to work on time, returns from lunch on time and minimizes unscheduled absences.
